Well, here we go again!
I'm looking forward to playing some of my favourite songs and also a bunch of tunes from both my and Matheu's albums. Much mirth and energy will abound...
The following day, I head up to Glasgow to play at Celtic Connections with Emily Smith. We play Monday night as part of a special BBC Radio2 Live broadcast, with Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott, Aoife O'Donovan and Mary-Chapin Carpenter.
Tuesday has Emily play her own show in the Fruitmarket as a double bill with Tim and Darrell. We'll have the full 5 piece band, myself, Matheu, Signy Jakobsdottir on Percussion and Ross Hamilton on Bass. Also joining us will be the VERY awesome Jerry Douglas, Aoife O'Donovan and Rory Butler.
Our last show is at the Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday as part of the fabulous Woman's Heart concert, with Eleanor McEvoy and Sharon Shannon among others. It'll be a bit of a special night I'm sure and a fitting way for us to finish up at the festival!
Hopefully I'll see some of you over the next week!

Time off's not really time off..
It's all been rather quiet in the online world for me in recent months as I've been taking a bit of time out to spend with my new son, born at the end of April. He's a total joy to be around, as has started properly smiling now - he a big fan of singing and fiddle playing so we figure we're onto a winner!
I've also managed to build a desk and a dry stone wall in between short catnaps and eating!
Had our first James Brothers gig of the year in Glasgow last week and was stoked with the great crowd who came along.
I've been spending a fair bit of time at my design business lately (White Fall Design) and have been enjoying working from home and taking time out to play with the new family.
We started recording the new Emily Smith album last December and after a 6 month break we're ready to pick up the reins again and get it finished! It's definitely harder to find a couple of hours spare to hit the studio between baby sleeps and feeds! (No-one Said it would be easy!)
Think that's all the news for now, I've a couple of festival shows with Emily - Speyfest and Madfest - in the next month, and then James Brothers tours in November and February all interspersed with chopping wood and keeping up the gardening and bare foot running.
Bye for now!
